5 binge worthy shows to watch during lockdown

The year is 2020 and we are suddenly living in a vastly different world. Not because of far-flung future tech as envisioned in movies gone by, but due to the current coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe.

Lockdowns and quarantining throughout the world has forced us all indoors, but it’s not all bad. It has given us all the perfect opportunity to watch that show we kept meaning to but just could not find the time for.

I have rounded up five shows that I just cannot get enough of during lockdown and am sharing them with you so you can sit back, relax and binge. Without further ado and in no particular order here they are;

1. Killing Eve (Prime Video)

Season 3 released near the start of lockdown back on April 12th and the entire show is just brilliant. Think James Bond crossed with Atomic. The result - pure perfection.

2. Queer Eye (Netflix)

Raise your rainbow flags because Queer Eye has returned for a 5th season. Season 5 dropped at the start of June and is prepped waiting for you to press play. They are the fab 5 and honestly, this show gives me life. When is Season 6 coming?

3. RuPaul’s Drag Race [US] (Netflix)

I mean, this should already be on your watchlist, but if it is not then now is the time. These queens are overflowing with charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent. -clap clap- now bring back my gurls!

4. Great British Bake Off: The Professionals (Channel 4)

We are toning it down a bit here and hopping in the kitchen for a dose of professional baking. Take the original GBBO, throw in a ton of professional’s bakers and you have this masterpiece of a show which features the most decadent and delicious cakes you could only dream of diving your face into. This is a must watch for anyone who likes cake as much as I do.

5. Tiger King (Netflix)

You have seen the memes, you have heard the name, but have you seen the show? This eight-part documentary series follows Joe Exotic through his life and times of owning a tiger zoo and the tribulations he faces. I will not spoil what happens but let’s just say it goes from bad to worse for Joe.

So there we have it. I'll let you be the judge of how amazing these shows are. I just hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Stay safe Cupcakers.

Ian
