This week I’ve been reminiscing and thinking back to some of my earliest music memories and my first favourite band the Thompson Twins with their new wave synth-pop sound from the early 1980s.
The track I’ve chosen is ‘Love on your side’ a top ten hit from 1983 from the album ‘Quick Step and Side Kick’. This song along with many of their other notable hits like ‘Doctor, Doctor’ and ‘You take me up’ take me back to my early childhood asking my Dad to play their albums on vinyl on the record player and enjoying dancing around and singing along.
Today the Thompson Twins music might seem kind of cheesy but I do still have a soft spot for them as it was music I grew up listening to and will never forget. I love the electronic intro to this track, it’s just so of it’s era.
