Where I reveal the most cupcake-worthy trend for this fortnight.
Purple has always been my favourite colour, it’s my go-to hair colour (see the picture on the right, and yes I did colour in my eyebrows to match the turquoise in my locks). It’s also such a perfect shade when it comes to dressing this time of year.
The best thing about purple, is there are so many different variations of the colour, you can go more bluey-purple for that icey inspired look. Or you can add a bit of a warmer tint with a pinky-reddy-purple.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1482332327071{background-image: url(https://simplysomethingfem.files.wordpress.com/2020/05/20819-two-news-with-borders-3258.jpg?id=883) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”950″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row gap=”20″ equal_height=”yes”][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1482332191485{background-image: url(https://simplysomethingfem.files.wordpress.com/2020/05/b6f7b-two-news-with-borders-3266.jpg?id=884) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”953″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1482332133400{border: 1px solid #ededed !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1512072607478{padding-right: 35px !important;padding-left: 35px !important;}”]I’ve decided to focus on the catwalk looks for this article, and find high street alternatives to the outfits shown. I really love Fashion Week and am looking forward to going again the first chance I get!
First up is Ellie Saab. This deep plum ensemble is super romantic and very girly. But with a grungey twist, especially with the polka-dot tights and smokey make-up, this look would suit those who prefer to wear black on nights out, for a nice alternative which doesn’t draw too much attention.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row gap=”20″ equal_height=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1482332206790{margin-top: 20px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1482332133400{border: 1px solid #ededed !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1526566322143{padding-right: 35px !important;padding-left: 35px !important;}”]
Next up we have Adam Selman. His slouchy yet totally gorgeous suiting collection had me drooling from start to finish. I loved how oddly feminine this outfit was specifically, like Madonna in her ‘Vogue’ music video. The purple itself is an even darker, richer plum.
I have a crop top very similar to that, accept I wear mine with a long sleeved plain white top. It’s less midriff-bearing but still super chic.

The brand always hits the nail on the head when it comes to key shades and geometric shapes in their silhouettes. The deep violet is the perfect colour for Autumn; a real stand out shade. The models strut down the catwalk in their power suits with slicked back hair, parted to the side.
Next do the perfect Capri Suit trousers in this lovely violet colour, shop it here: Pair with a dark pout and red sky-scraper heels and you’re in business.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row gap=”20″ equal_height=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1482332206790{margin-top: 20px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1482332133400{border: 1px solid #ededed !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1539975380953{padding-right: 35px !important;padding-left: 35px !important;}”]A floaty, floral, dreamy collection, Joanne Hyes has quickly become one of my favourite designers. The models sashayed down the catwalk in layers of beautiful fabrics and daring colours. One stand out outfit was this lavender number. It is very kawaii and pastel, but still mature and sophisticated.
ASOS sell some lovely dresses, but I found this particular maxi dress on their website. Wear your hair in loose, tousled waves, with barely-there make-up and nude ballet flats, and you’ll resemble a fairy from Midsummer Nights Dream.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1482332327071{background-image: url(https://simplysomethingfem.files.wordpress.com/2020/05/20819-two-news-with-borders-3258.jpg?id=883) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”1166″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row gap=”20″ equal_height=”yes”][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1482332191485{background-image: url(https://simplysomethingfem.files.wordpress.com/2020/05/b6f7b-two-news-with-borders-3266.jpg?id=884) !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}”][vc_single_image image=”1170″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1482332133400{border: 1px solid #ededed !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1539975783766{padding-right: 35px !important;padding-left: 35px !important;}”]Finally, we have super awesome brand Mother of Pearl. This deep purple, almost blue full length coat with gorgeous embroidered detail and funnel-like sleeves is amazing. This colour is going to be huge this winter I can just feel it. And no one does understated elegance like Mother of Pearl.
M&S do a lovely suede long jacket here which is closer to purple but really encapsulates that gothic-esque look. Wear with a silk jumpsuit a dainty kitten heels and you’ll look like a Russian model.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
